No date has been set for the transition into the province’s final alert level.
Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald, says the province has made a lot of changes and reopened many services recently, and not all of it has gone as smoothly as the public health department would’ve liked.
Fitzgerald says Alert Level One won’t be the resumption of what life looked like before the novel coronavirus, but more about how to live with COVID-19 until a vaccine is developed.
She says we want to give it enough time to ensure it’s safe enough to move to another level. Fitzgerald adds a lot has been opened and there isn’t much more left to reopen.
No Date Set Yet to Reopen Borders to Rest of Canada

Meanwhile, the move to reopen the province’s borders to the rest of the country has not yet been discussed, according to Premier Dwight Ball.
Government previously indicated that it might consider opening the borders to other areas like Ontario and Alberta come July 17th, but the Premier says that date was simply the earliest possible date to be considered.
Ball says before any type of expansion occurs, they’ll have to continue to work with public health and monitor the epidemiology country-wide. He says a firm date has not yet been set.
