A man and woman have been arrested in connection with a police investigation that started with shots fired in the area of Cowperthwaite Court in St. John’s and ended in a car crash in Dildo, Trinity Bay.
RNC received reports of gunshots in the residential area off Elizabeth Avenue in the city’s east end around 6:30 this morning.
No injuries were reported in what police are calling a targeted attack. Police issued an advisory seeking 45-year-old Paul Hennebury who left the scene in a vehicle operated by a 29-year-old woman.
The suspect vehicle, a black Honda Civic was located in CBS, where it eventually proceeded to the Trans-Canada Highway westbound.
The Civic’s journey ended in a two-vehicle collision in Dildo coming to rest against a local home. Police dog services located Hennebury, who fled on foot, a short time later.
Both Hennebury and the woman are in police custody. They are facing charges in connection with the shooting incident in addition to possession of a stolen vehicle, flight from police, and dangerous driving.
