COVID-19 has given way to what many are calling the ‘COVID 15,’ and many are now wondering how they can shed those pandemic pounds.
Kathy Roe is a nutritionist who started Eat Real Therapy, which focuses on long-term health and not weight loss.
Roe contends that we don’t need to stress out about stress eating, and it is okay to cope with a bit of food.
She says that a few poor choices in the short term won’t make or break us; it’s the decisions we make over the long term that have the biggest impact.
Roe says there are lots of ways to get in shape, such as getting outside for a jog or hike. If that’s not your thing, she suggests looking online for fitness classes.
Roe says we need to focus now on how we will react to the possible second wave of COVID-19.
We need to learn from our mistakes, she says, and develop coping mechanisms through something other than food.
