Salmon angling has been prohibited in several rivers throughout Gros Morne National Park due to adverse water conditions.
Parks Canada says low water levels and warm temperatures in rivers throughout the national park has forced them to close the rivers to angling effective immediately. The closed rivers are:
- Deer Arm Brook (Eastern Arm Brook);
- Lomond River (only the section within Gros Morne National Park);
- East Branch Lomond River;
- Baker’s Brook;
- Wallace Brook;
- Black Brook;
- Eastern Brook;
- Bottom Brook (St. Paul’s Inlet); and
- Trout River.
The closure will remain in effect for the rest of the fishing season.
Details are available on Parks Canada’s website.
