It’s been a successful year for the food fishery as many are heading out on the water and coming back in with their quota of codfish in minutes.
Fishing for Success in Petty Harbour teaches youth about the fishing heritage of both the community and the province with the hope of getting more young people involved.

Captain, fisherman, and co-operater of Fishing for Success, Leo Hearn, says it has been a slower year for them because their biggest market is people from outside of the country.
He says they are doing okay with it. Hearn says they lost a fair bit of business from the cancellations of conferences and other events. He says they survived the past five years with “practically nothing” so they will keep doing it and working every summer.
