An early-morning fishing trip turned into something magical for a father and daughter Sunday morning.

Sean and Sarah Russell were out for their normal boat ride off Conception Bay South when they spotted two whales.

The two humpbacks quickly disappeared and with that Sean got his camera ready. Sarah says the whales then popped up out of nowhere, shot into the air and did a 360.

Sean says it was a special moment for him to share with his daughter; he says he was expecting them to show their tales or jump a little bit but he was not prepared for the show they put on.
