A parent’s attitude about wearing masks helps to shape the attitudes of children.
That’s according to psychologist Dr. Betty Rodriguez-Rubio.
Masks are now mandatory in all indoor public spaces in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Dr. Rodriguez-Rubio says if a parent views the wearing of a mask as a drag, then children will develop negative feelings about wearing a mask.
She suggests instilling in children a sense of duty, kindness, and consideration towards others. Wearing of masks can be turned into a fun experience by helping students express their individuality.
