The George Street Association is expressing disappointment and is raising questions about fair play, in light of an incident on Water Street Thursday night.
Pictures and video of a large congregation of people on the pedestrian mall, many without masks, have been making the rounds, prompting serious questions about the enforcement of rules related to COVID-19.
The capital city has indicated the event was not sanctioned by the city.

The George Street Association says it was the latest in a series of performance events that caused “deep congestion” for people walking the Pedestrian Mall.
Marketing and Communications Lead for the George Street Association, Don-E Coady, says concerns expressed about social distancing and crowd control measures are hard for them to hear given that their members have been “demonstrating a high standard for public safety.”
In the meantime, the association is planning a socially-safe fall campaign. Details will be released in the coming days.
