Some churches are once again opening their doors this month to parishioners.
Reverend Christopher Fowler is the Executive Secretary to the Anglican Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland, who was tasked by the Archbishop to get their churches ready for a safe return to in-person worship.
The document they compiled, “Many Members” was released to parishes earlier this summer to digest, and prepare to reopen after the Labour Day weekend.
He says some churches will not open at this time, while others will.
Rev. Christopher says parishioners can expect to see hand sanitizing stations, arrows on the floor for entry and exit, assigned seating, no choirs and the obligatory COVID questions.
In the meantime, many churches have continued to offer marriage, baptism and funeral services on a pastoral basis.
