The Marine Insitute is offering a new annual grant to students through a gift from a local company in the fishing industry.

Icewater Seafoods and the Wareham family have launched the annual Bruce Wareham Memorial Award in Seafood Quality, which will be granted each year to a student in the Advanced Diploma in Food Safety program.

The President and CEO of Arnold’s Cove-based Icewater, Alberto Wareham, says it is his family’s hope that the award will have a positive impact on the life and education of a student.

Applicants are asked to demonstrate how they uphold some of the characteristics that founder Bruce Wareham demonstrated and valued.

The deadline for applications for the 2022 award is Friday, February 18th.
