The CEO of St. John’s Sports and Entertainment is leaving the position.

In a statement late Monday, the city said Sheena McCrate is leaving the organization to “pursue other opportunities.”

Jill Brewer has been named interim CEO while St. John’s Sports and Entertainment begins the recruitment process for a new boss.

The announcement comes after the city reached an agreement with Deacon Sports and Entertainment to allow the Growlers hockey team to return to the Mary Brown’s Centre.

The team had been blocked from access to the building over harassment allegations between the two sides.
