Local professional artists are getting a bit of a break with the temporary relaxation of limits to the Professional Artists’ Travel Fund.

ArtsNL has temporarily relaxed PATF funding caps, allowing eligible artists and groups to apply based on the true cost of eligible expenses.

The fund can be availed of by artists who have been invited to take part in unexpected career-enhancing activities.

Executive Director Melanie Martin says artists have faced some significant challenges over the last two years and just when many were starting to resume the scale of normal activity, they’ve been hit by steep increases in travel costs.

She says ArtsNL will help by allowing some flexibility in its PATF to help artists with increased costs associated with travel.
