The provincial government says all costs related to a Ukrainian Desk set up in Poland for Ukrainians fleeing the war at home have been funded through the existing Immigration and Multiculturalism budget.
The province is assessing the presence of the Ukrainian Desk in Poland as the Russian invasion continues.
The Department of Immigration says when engaging with health professionals and others working in self-regulated professions, such as engineering, staff at the Ukraine Desk in Poland are explaining to prospective newcomers that they will be subject to detailed professional certification.
Some concerns had been raised as to the level of understanding some professionals might have had entering the province about the certification process, particularly as it relates to physicians.
Health Minister Tom Osborne met with a group of Ukrainian health professionals late last week to offer assistance in terms of English language training and covering certain costs related to certification.
