A warning today from the Chief Medical Officer of Health regarding the mandatory use of non-medical masks starting August 24.
Dr. Janice Fitzgerald says the introduction of masks at this time is in anticipation of a second wave of the illness.
She reminds people to be respectful of people who cannot wear masks because of medical reasons.
Fitzgerald also reminds people to be kind to retail workers who are trying their best. @VOCMNEWS

She says there are few conditions that are negatively affected by the use of face masks, but people who cannot wear a face mask will not be asked for supporting documentation.
She encourages compassion for those who cannot wear a mask, and says it is impossible to know the personal circumstances of those we encounter.
