The province moved into Alert Level Three yesterday and with that, many businesses around the province were allowed to reopen their doors.
Businesses were tasked with putting forward their changes for reopening safely and ensuring their regulations were in line with guidelines set out by the provincial government.
The guidelines are not public health orders and therefore, are not enforceable. However, there are aspects of legislation that are enforceable outside of COVID-19 guidelines, such as Occupational Health and Safety.

Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald, says the Public Health Department does have the ability to perform inspections based on complaints.
She says if there are concerns, there are ways to follow up on them and if there is a significant issue, it can be investigated if need be.
Fitzgerald continued to say the business community has been heavily involved in the process and is eager to open up in a safe manner.
