Those visiting downtown St. John’s can walk on Water Street this summer.
The city of St. John’s announced the proposed pedestrian mall will go ahead this summer starting on July 3 until September 7, from Bishop’s Cove to Job’s Cove, from noon to 10 p.m. every day.
Water Street will be closed to allow businesses to move out onto the street and foot traffic to move about freely.
Picnic tables and will be introduced as well as barricades to help with the pedestrian traffic flow.
