COVID-19 had a dramatic impact on one not-for-profit dedicated to providing good-quality furniture to people who need it the most.
Home Again Furniture Bank rolled off its Blackmarsh Road lot today with the first truck full of furniture donated to the cause by IKEA Canada.
Last year, Home Again made 400 deliveries throughout the northeast Avalon area, but Snowmageddon and the pandemic created a serious disruption in their pickups and deliveries.
No deliveries were made at all in April.

Amy Tulk of Home Again Furniture Bank says it saddened her to think of the people who were going without some of the essentials many take for granted—like a bed.
She says many take a good night’s sleep for granted and the man, who is six feet tall, told her he couldn’t wait to go to sleep in his new twin bed after months of sleeping on the floor.
