A charitable organization is making a plea to donors to refrain from dumping things on their property.
Habitat For Humanity ReStore made a post to Facebook asking people not to donate outside of business hours and to always speak to an attendant when donating.
They have seen a large increase in unusable items being thrown in their dumpster and on the side of the building on Kenmount Road.
The post says that it costs the organization a substantial amount for disposal of the items and wastes the time of their limited staff and volunteers.
There have also been problems with household waste, like bags of garbage, being thrown in the metal only bin, which has financial repercussions as well.
The post states that while they realize some of these folks do have good intentions, they want to educate the public that actions like this are hurting non-profits in our community, not helping.
