Environment Canada hopes to have a new weather radar up and running in Holyrood by the fall.
The old radar has been out of service for some time.
Derm Kearney, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, says the old one is currently being replaced as part of a new facility which is being built. It’s expected to be completed by early fall.
Kearney says not having the station does have an impact on the ability to forecast weather, but they have other technologies at their disposal to produce forecasts until Holyrood is back up and running.
