Video off Change Islands of a group of people handlining for cod shows they nearly got more than they bargained for.
The video shows a shark in hot pursuit of a cod fish being pulled into the boat as onlookers shriek in delight and surprise.
The dialogue is worth the listen. And yes. I am the Peter. He was a 9/10 Footer And graceful to watch …for some of us at least. Lol. #outportlife. pic.twitter.com/Wu6lDaAh49

Porbeagle sharks are not uncommon in Newfoundland waters and are frequently seen by people participating in the food fishery.
The identity of the shark in question has not been confirmed.
Meanwhile, some much larger predators are on the move off Newfoundland. Ocearch, a US-based marine research group, is tweeting about a Great White off the coast of Newfoundland.
Unama’ki, a tagged 15-foot female is pinging on the Grand Banks southeast of the Avalon, while Teazer a ten foot male is swimming in the water off Sydney, Nova Scotia.
Great white shark @UnamakiShark pings off Newfoundland. Keep on going girl! If she is pregnant, there is a chance she will show us where the Canadian White shark gives birth next spring/early summer. @OCEARCH https://t.co/0FZZBPeogt
