Liquor inspectors were on high alert this past weekend, especially downtown St. John’s, but there were no violations.
Social distancing went out the window the previous two weekends in crowded bars and clubs, drawing the ire of public health officials worried about the spread of COVID-19.
The Newfoundland Liquor Corporation sent inspectors to the downtown but noted no violations relating to the Special Measures order under the Public Health and Promotion Act.
The corporation says establishments all across the province – and the people who frequent them – are to be commended for taking the matter seriously and for doing their best to protect public health.
