All does not seem to be proceeding smoothly at Motor Vehicle Registration in Mount Pearl today with many upset people. Some who booked appointments, as required under the current system, arrived only to find that there was no record of the booking.

One man who tried to get through to the 1-877 number told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly that he spent over an hour on hold only to be abruptly cut off and forced to go through the process again.
He was trying to register a used car that he had just bought.

He says he was on the line for an hour and 15 minutes, then a computer message came on and said “goodbye.”

Service NL has been gradually adding services over the past few weeks as government reopens. It directed people to book online or, if unable to exercise that option, call 1-877-636-6867.
