Three men are awaiting court appearances this morning after separate weapons related incidents in the capital city on Tuesday and overnight.
The first took place around 2:30 p.m. when the RNC responded to a call of a disturbance in downtown St. John’s. A 29-year-old man was arrested for assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon.
He was held for court.
Then, early this morning shortly after 1:30 a.m., police received a call of an assault in the center city area.
As a result, a 22-year-old man was charged with assault with a weapon, mischief and uttering threats. He too was held for a court appearance this morning.

Then just minutes later, around 1:45 a.m., police received yet another call that a member of the public had been threatened.
After a short investigation, police arrested a 31-year-old man and charged him with assault, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failing to comply with court orders.
He will appear in front of a judge this morning.
