The mother of a child with cancer is praising a local organization for helping her family when they were down two years ago, and continuing to provide support during the pandemic.
Camp Delight is hosted every year by the Candlelighters NL. This year, the physical camp isn’t going ahead, but that doesn’t mean that support has been cut.
The Candelighters are sending out “camp-in-box” to all their participants this year with the help of Household Movers.
Veronica Vardy says without the help of the Candlelighters, her family would not be where they are in terms of the support they have received for her daughter, Amelia, who was diagnosed with cancer two years ago.
To show their support for the group, Vardy and her two sons took part in the Virtual Spin for Camp Delight by hiking and uploading videos to share information about families living with cancer.
The virtual Spin is a fundraiser that supports many of the organization’s events.
