Police are continuing their investigation into a stabbing incident in the capital city’s downtown that sent a 23-year-old man to hospital.

Police were called to Adelaide Street area around 3:45 Sunday morning following reports of a disturbance.

Police found a young man with stab wounds at the scene. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

There were reports of a shouting match prior to an assault involving a group of men who then fled the area, leaving the victim behind.

Police say there is no indication that the victim knew the group of men involved. No arrests have yet been made. Anyone with information is asked to contact RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
