Gas prices in metro on Friday, May 1, 2026 (VOCM News)

The price of oil has shot up in recent days and so have the prices at the pumps.

A litre of gas has now surpassed the 2-dollar mark after the PUB jacked up the price by 7.3 cents last night.

The price of diesel jumps by 9.8 cents on the island and 8.3 cents in Labrador West.

Furnace oil increases by 8 and a half cents. In Lab West, stove oil is up 6.8 cents.

The price of propane is unchanged.
