Fire crews returned to an old haunt in the capital city yesterday evening after a minor fire broke out at a former fire station.
St. John’s Regional responded to the old west end station on LeMarchant Road following reports of smoke on the former station’s second floor.
According to reports from the area, some smoke could be seen drifting skyward from the building’s second-story windows.
Crews quickly staged themselves in the area, reducing traffic on LeMarchant Road, and got to work.
The situation was quickly brought under control, and no major damage was evident.
