There will be labour peace at Metrobus for the next three years. The 125 members of the Amalgamated Transit Union voted overwhelmingly in favour of a new contract last night. They were on the verge of a strike until they reached a tentative agreement with city council.
The union president declined to release any details, other than to say that the union and city compromised.
St. John’s, which is facing a deficit of millions, has said now was not the time to increase benefits.
