Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP have received two recent reports of suspicious activity in and around the skate park in Botwood.
Police received two separate reports of a white Hyundai SUV in the area on Saturday, October 3rd and on the evening of Monday, October 5th.
In the first case, a man, described as being in his 30s, was making inappropriate comments to a number of young people in the area.
On Monday, police received a report of a vehicle matching the same description at the skate park and a man who had been taking pictures of children at the park. He left the park after being confronted by a group of teens.
The SUV had a tinted licence plate cover. The RCMP say even though they’re quite common, tinted licence plate covers are illegal.
Police say the tinting can affect a person’s ability to obtain a licence plate number which is of concern to police.
RCMP are conducting patrols of the skate park. Anyone with information on a vehicle matching that description in the area is asked to contact police. (709-489-2121).
