Energy Minister Andrew Parsons says he’s been assured that the supply of propane for the province is stable and not an issue.
He was responding to claims by Terra Nova MHA Lloyd Parrott that there is a shortage of propane in the province, with none at the Come By Chance refinery.
Parsons said such questions on the issue are intended to spur fear and panic oversupply.
He says North Atlantic has been trucking propane to the island for six months via Marine Atlantic and Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro has also assured him that they also have a plan.
Parsons said the bigger concern is how to keep the refinery viable.
