“There is no health without mental health.” RNC are recognizing the theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week.
The Constabulary says Operational Stress Injury is a very real aspect of the work done by their members on a daily basis.
The RNC has introduced a Safety and Wellness Coordinator, Support Service Dog Stella, and the Heroes Equine Learning Program or HELP, to help promote self-care and wellness.
HELP is designed to assist current and former first responders who live with mental health needs.
Earlier this month, the RNC launched its first Equine Assisted Psychotherapy Program with the assistance of Constable Kelsey Muise of the RNC Mounted Unit.
The RNC says Constable Muise and Equine Clinical Specialist Rhonda Fiander of the Avalon Equestrian Club will work virtually with partners in Ontario in equine therapy.
We continue to work with our communities to recognize its needs, & to provide services to fit those needs. The theme for Mental Illness Awareness Week 2020 is ‘There is no health without mental health’. Visit our website for more information. #YourRNC https://t.co/SomLqIH0f9
