Public Health officials are reporting two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 bringing the total number of active cases in the province to six.
One case, a woman in the Western Health region is a close contact of a previous case.
The other case, involving a man in the Eastern Health region is travel-related. The man was returning home from work in Africa. He has been in self-isolation since his arrival.
Anyone who travelled on Air Canada Flight 690 from Toronto to St. John’s on Wednesday, October 7 is asked to call 811 for COVID testing.
There have been a total of 279 confirmed cases in Newfoundland and Labrador since March. 269 people have recovered and four have died.
