Police are scratching their heads trying to figure out the message behind vandalism to heavy equipment in Grand Falls-Windsor which involves three initials being spray-painted on the equipment.
RCMP say each vehicle located at the waste disposal water treatment facility worksite on Scott Avenue was spray-painted with the letters “E.L.F.” and several wires were cut on one of the trucks.
A second incident happened on Monday as heavy equipment parked at the corner of Sutherland Drive and Goodyear Avenue was, again, painted with the same initials. A number of wires were cut on an excavator.

Police suspect the acts were not random.
RCMP are asking anyone with any information on the meaning or origin of the initials to contact them at 709-489-2121 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
