Crowding together to ring in the holidays with some festive music isn’t an option this year, so one 12-year-old musician in Mount Pearl is doing so virtually, and he’s doing it for a good cause.

In a normal year, Alexander Taylor would be volunteering to do live music for Christmas charity events. However, this is no ordinary year, so Taylor decided he would help bring some holiday cheer and music to people virtually.

The Merry and Bright Concert Fundraiser will stream this Saturday at 2 p.m. in support of the Gathering Place.

Taylor says he wanted to do something for charity because he’s heard of the effects the pandemic has had on such organizations. He wanted to do something for the Gathering Place in particular because he likes what they are doing to help out the community.

Taylor says the event will be a great way to get in the festive spirit. He hopes it will bring smiles to people’s faces because music makes the soul happy.
