The curtain was officially raised on the new Salvation Army Ches Penney Centre of Hope in downtown St. John’s this morning.
In so many ways, the timing could not have been better for such a facility, with the need for mental health, emergency housing and addiction services greater than ever in the midst of a pandemic.
From an in-house food bank, to fully staffed health clinic, 20 housing units and even chiropractic services, the centre is as new as it is bright and welcoming for anyone who they have nowhere else to turn.
