Memorial University is doing its part this weekend to help generate some much-needed help to people during the holidays.

President Vianne Timmons is spearheading a charity drive tomorrow in front of the Arts Building in St. John’s.

Timmons herself will be on hand, accepting drive-by donations of food and toys.

She says it’s all part of giving back to the community.

Non-perishable food items, cash, and toys for children will be collected for the food bank and the on-campus food bank for students. The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon.

Similar food and toy drives are taking place at Grenfell campus throughout December and at the Labrador Institute today.
