The School Lunch Association is discontinuing the delivery of school lunch services on mornings when school is delayed due to weather.
Executive Director John Finn says mornings with delayed openings create significant challenges for administrators, teachers, parents and children.
Busing, alternate transportation, arranging childcare and clearing the driveway are just a few of the things all are faced with when school openings are delayed and staff at the School Lunch Association are no different says Finn.
He says the timing for meal preparation has been tough in those types of circumstances but is even tougher now with necessary COVID cleaning protocols added to the mix.
The Association is asking parents to pack a lunch for their children on delayed opening days and the cost of the lunch can be subtracted from the next order.
