Property sales in Newfoundland and Labrador in 2020 were the highest they’ve been in over a decade.
The NL Realtor’s Association says a combination of factors came together to make 2020 the best year they’ve seen since 2011.
CEO Bill Stirling says an informal poll among its members shows a variety of reasons why property sales were up across the province.
It’s driven primarily by new home buyers and the low cost of borrowing. Five-year mortgage rates have been in the range of less than 2 per cent.
