The Newfoundland Growlers has appointed Bob Hunter as a lead consultant for its proposal to purchase and revitalize Mile One.
In a release issued this morning, the Growlers say Hunter brings over 35 years experience in the sport, entertainment, hospitality and tourism industries.
He oversaw all venue operations including in-house food and beverage, live entertainment, suites sales and service and construction and venue development while with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment.

The chair of Deacon Sports and Entertainment, Dean MacDonald, is pushing to purchase the sports and recreation facility. He says adding someone like Bob Hunter to his team underscores how serious he is about bringing the best proposal forward.
Meanwhile, questions continue to be asked about the whereabouts of the KPMG report on Mile One.
The revised report into the possible sale or retention of the sports and recreation complex has been completed for some time but has yet to be released publicly.
City councillor Jamie Korab says the independent committee will send the report to the board of St. John’s Sports and Entertainment. The board will then make a recommendation to council.
Korab says once council reviews the report it will be made public.
