RCMP confirm two men, both in their 70s, have died following a boating accident on Rocky Pond near Gambo.
RCMP received a report that the men were overdue on a fishing trip early this morning.
The Bonavista Bay Search and Rescue and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, with the help of a Cormorant helicopter out of the 103 Search and Rescue Squadron in Gander, located the men in the water early this morning—not far from their overturned boat.
The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office is involved in the investigation.
