Bell is expanding its 5G network in Newfoundland and Labrador to include St. John’s, Flatrock, Paradise, Portugal Cove-St. Philips and Wabana.
The president of Bell Mobility, Claire Gillies, says the 5th generation capability is exciting news that will greatly improve internet access for many residents with greater speed and more network capacity.
“This is the network that will allow us to have autonomous vehicles, mobile cloud gaming, remote surgeries and manufacturing automation.”
Bell’s goal is to supply the service to 70 percent of the country’s population by the end of the year. The network is now available in portions of the northeast Avalon, with the possibility that it may expand beyond the region in future.
