The highway near Deer Lake has reopened to traffic after an emergency culvert repair was conducted following a washout earlier this week.
However, drivers are being advised of a reduced speed limit and rough conditions as the asphalt has not yet been replaced.
NL511 announced that the route reopened as of 5:37, Thursday evening. The speed limit has been set to 50 km/h as the road’s surface is still rough.
Anyone travelling through the area is also advised to expect frequent stops or slowdowns, and obey signage, until the road work can be completed.
