One person is in the hospital following a frightening situation at Cape Spear.
The RNC, St. John’s Regional Fire Department and Ground Search and Rescue crews were called to Cape Spear Friday afternoon following reports of someone falling into the ocean.

Police say a female was on the rocks below the parking lot area of Cape Spear. She was in the water for a short time but was rescued without issue and taken to hospital.
At the time of the incident, officials called for an ambulance, but none were immediately available to respond.
The RNC is reminding the public to stay away from the rocks near the water in the Cape Spear area.
