The RNC says officers responded to a reported break and enter at a home in the west end just after 10 p.m. Tuesday night, and found a woman who has sustained injuries in the incident. They also located a weapon that they believe was used in the assault.
Police say the two people are known to each other.
Following an investigation, a warrant was issued for the arrest of the 26-year-old for break and enter, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and breach of a court order.
