The RNC has released surveillance photos of a suspect in their investigation of an assault and possible weapons offence at a restaurant in downtown St. John’s.
It happened shortly after 3 a.m. this morning. Officers responded to a disturbance at a restaurant on Water Street, and arrived to find a man who had sustained “visible” injuries. The other person left the scene before officers arrived.
According to the RNC, the man was assaulted by another man inside the restaurant. The suspect drew what is believed to be a gun and pointed it at the victim, before using it to assault him.
The suspect is described as a heavy-set black man, tall in stature, with a bald head and dark beard. According to police he was wearing a dark jacket with white trim, a dark t-shirt with white and red lettering, jeans, and glasses. Police believe the suspect was with another man and a woman in the restaurant.
