The RNC held a news conference this morning to provide an update on the ongoing homicide investigation in the capital city’s downtown.
Lorraine Obed, 28, is facing a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the death of 49-year-old James Corcoran last Thursday evening in the area of Carter’s Hill.
The RNC’s criminal investigation division is looking for any dashcam, CCTV or cell phone footage, or witness information from the area around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 26.
Further to that, police are hoping to speak with occupants of a red GMC Terrain SUV, captured on CCTV footage in the area around the time of the incident, as police believed they would have information related to the events leading up to Corcoran’s death.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
RNC Constable James Cadigan says that violent events such as this are traumatic to the community. Cadigan says the area of Carter’s Hill is a densely populated area with families and he is urging people to seek support if they are feeling the effects of trauma.
