The English School District is distributing letters to parents of students letting them know that certain types of behaviour will not be tolerated.
The warning comes following a recent social media challenge encouraging students to smack a teacher or other staff member on the behind.
NLESD Itinerant for Safe and Inclusive Schools for the western region, Sherra Robinson, says while the district has not yet received any complaints, they wanted to get out ahead of the trends, following recent incidents related to similar challenges.
She says they were starting to see some indication that it was happening in other jurisdictions and wanted to be proactive by letting parents know so they can talk to their children about appropriate behaviour.
