There will be a review of Alison Coffin’s leadership of the provincial NDP.
Delegates to the party’s convention in St. John’s voted 60 to 46 — or 56.6 per cent to 43.4 per cent — in favour of a leadership review on Saturday afternoon.
Nominations will open soon for any party member in good standing to put their name forward, which may or may not lead to a leadership convention.
Coffin, who’s challenging the loss of her seat in the courts, was unavailable for comment on Saturday.
The convention opened Saturday morning with messages from Coffin, party president Kyle Rees and Federation of Labour president Mary Shortall.
Sunday’s agenda will include a tribute to former MP Jack Harris, an address by federal leader Jagmeet Singh and the election of a new executive.
