A local sports icon is returning to his roots.
Carl English is gearing up for his next challenge, being named the Canada Games 2025 Boys Basketball Head Coach for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
English retired from professional basketball last year, finishing his career with the St. John’s Edge.
He then turned his attention to giving back to the game, opening the CE23 Academy this past September.
The games will be part of the Newfoundland and Labrador 2025 Summer Games, from August 8 to August 24.
