The Burin Peninsula is returning to Alert Level 2 following a recent outbreak linked to the school system.
Public Health officials say while the initial source of the 83 total cases linked to the outbreak has not been determined, the risk to the public is now deemed to be low.
There are eight new confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in the province today.
Three are in the Eastern Health region – two of which are in people under the age of 20 – three in Central health and two in Western Health.
With 16 new recoveries, there are a total of 52 active cases in Newfoundland and Labrador, including one person in hospital.
Public Health officials have issued a flight advisory in connection with a recent COVID investigation.
All passengers on board Air Canada flight AC8880 which departed Halifax and arrived in Deer Lake on Friday, October 29th should call 811 to arrange for COVID testing.
